2014 Virginia Meeting & Conference Planner

Published September 30, 2014 by Virginia Business

A message to corporate meeting planners

Welcome to the 2014 edition of the Virginia Business Meeting & Conference Planner. This annual publication is designed to showcase prime meeting locations across the entire state. Whether you are planning a large convention or a small off-site retreat, this guide is designed to assist in finding an ideal location.

The commonwealth is home to many excellent facilities that can meet your individual or company needs. Virginia has many fine destinations available to support your recreational, networking and team-building goals. If you are traveling within Virginia, the good news is that everything you need for an excellent meeting can be found near home.

If you are considering meetings in Virginia from elsewhere, please come and experience firsthand why Virginia is rated highly for both its business-friendly environment and its recreational amenities.

Virginia Business’ audience research indicates that 49 percent of our readers’ companies will be holding off-site meetings within the next 12 months. Seventy-seven percent of those holding meetings will hold two or more off-site events in the next year. In addition, our readers are heavy travelers.

Ninety-four percent of them report taking have stayed in a hotel for business or pleasure in the past 12 months, and 89 percent of those have stayed in a hotel or motel more than five nights in the last year.

This meeting and travel planner is designed to do one of the things that Virginia Business does best — bring readers and advertisers together to encourage business growth. We hope that you will enjoy reading this year’s Meeting & Conference Planner. As always, we welcome your comments or suggestions on how we might improve future editions.

Here’s to successful meetings!
