AES appoints new director

Charles Harrington, chairman and CEO of Pasadena, Calif.-based Parsons Corp., has been appointed to the board of directors of Arlington-based AES Corp.

The appointment is effective Nov. 1.

Harrington has spent more than 30 years with Parsons in various operations, finance and business development roles. Parsons is a major engineering, construction, and technical and management services firm.

Harrington was appointed CEO and named chairman of the Parsons board of directors in 2008. He was CFO before becoming CEO.

AES is a Fortune 500, global power company, providing energy to 21 countries. It has a workforce of 25,000 people and annual revenues in 2012 were $18 billion.
