Arlington firm buys two global training companies

IDS International acquires DECO, GovSource

Arlington-based security government services firm IDS International announced Wednesday it has acquired Arlington-based global training companies DECO and GovSource.

Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

DECO provides global training and technical services while GovSource provides military and law enforcement training to the U.S. government. IDS provides training and technical services as well as support and cyber and information warfare services.

“By combining IDS, DECO and GovSource, we are merging three companies with distinct strengths and mature customer relationships to address the world’s most complex and mission critical programs,” IDS President and CEO Nick Dowling said in a statement. “The benefits to all three firms are considerable, and IDS is now a fully integrated government services firm that is positioned to win larger, more complex contracts.”

With the acquisitions, IDS International now employs more than 1,400 people and provides services in more than 20 countries. Its customers include national governments, U.S. and foreign militaries, nonprofits and public sector organizations.
