Capital Square names CFO

Austin Griffin joins Henrico County-based real estate investment company

Henrico County-based real estate investment company Capital Square announced Monday it has hired Austin Griffin as chief financial officer.

With more than two decades of experience, Griffin was most recently CFO with The Caton Cos., which oversees operations and assets for nine companies with more than $1 billion in assets. In his new role, he will oversee financial strategy, including formulating, monitoring, directing and implementing business plans for the company.

Griffin has also served as CFO for Tzadik Management and F9 Investments LLC as well as CEO for 123 Global, the real estate and development company for Learning Care Group and La Petite Inc. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University, his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and his master’s degree in accounting from Keiser University.

Capital Square also announced Monday it has hired Colleen Nichols as associate general counsel. During her career, she has worked in real estate and securities practice groups with Peake Law Group, Moran Reeves & Conn PC and Kaplan Voekler Cunningham & Frank PLC.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and American studies from the University of Virginia and her juris doctorate from William & Mary Law School.

Capital Square specializes in tax-advantaged real estate investments and to date has completed more than $2 billion in transactions.
