Commercial real estate services and investment firm CBRE has named Katie Mahon as its senior managing director and retail lead for its mid-Atlantic division, which includes markets in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, the company announced late last week.

In her newly-created role, she will oversee CBRE’s retail operations and growth strategy. Mahon assumed her position on June 8 and reports to CBRE’s Mid-Atlantic Division President Kyle Schoppmann.

Most recently, Mahon was the senior managing director of strategy and operations for retail in the Americas at Cushman & Wakefield, where she managed business and operating functions for the firm’s retail platform. She also oversaw retail revenue reporting, recruitment and retention.

Mahon first started her career at CBRE as an operations manager for retail services in the company’s New York office. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University. She currently serves on the Women’s United and International Council of Shopping Centers associations.
