Chantilly-based information technology company DirectViz Solutions LLC announced Wednesday it has hired Luiz Felipe Breyer Palhano de Jesus as vice president of solutions architecture.

Palhano most recently served as a principal systems and solutions architect for the BITS solution group with Arlington-based federal technology contractor CACI International Inc. In his new role, he will lead DirectViz’s Center of Excellence (CoE), technical strategy and solutions for strategic bids. He will also supervise a team of solution architects and technical specialists.

“Mr. Palhano’s new role supports DVS’ transition from a small business into a large systems integrator,” DirectViz Chief Growth Officer Herman Hewitt said in a statement. “His experience and background will guide our CoE to drive growth of our innovative solutions and make an impact on the broader strategic goals for DVS.”

While earning his bachelor’s degree in applied information technology from George Mason University, he also worked as a network engineer with Reston-based MetroStar Systems Inc.

DirectViz has more than 500 full-time employees and has been recognized as one of the industry’s fastest growing companies by Inc. Magazine. The company provides IT services including enterprise systems management, cloud computing and data center management.
