Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer announces addition of two new retail specialists

Cushman & Wakefield |Thalhimer has added two new veteran brokers to its office.  The Henrico County-based firm said Kevin South has joined Thalhimer Realty Partners (TRP) as a vice president to help grow its portfolio in the retail sector. David Crawford joins the Retail Services Group as vice president. Both men were formerly brokers with CBRE/Richmond.

South has more than 15 years of experience in retail brokerage and development. According to Thalhimer, he  has worked closely with institutional and regional property owners to execute leasing strategies for an  retail properties including power centers and grocery-anchored and mixed-use properties. He also has provided site selection and consulting services to national retailers such as Publix, which will be a new player in Richmond’s competitive grocery market. South  is a member of Intenational Clouncil of Shopping Centers as well as the Midlothian Rotary.

Crawford is a retail sales and leasing specialist with more than 19 years of experience. His   focus is on retail site selection, land sales, and landlord and tenant representation. Thalhimer said in a press release that Crawford was instrumental in assisting Publix Supermarkets’ entry into the Central Virginia market, as well as advising Cobb Theaters/Cinebistro with several locations in the region. Other key clients include: Excel Property Trust, Slate Properties, Principal Real Estate Investors, Invesco Realty Advisors, and RIOCAN.

Crawford also is a  member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE), and the Chesterfield Business Council, where he is a cabinet member and chairman of the Government Relations Committee.
