Former Ruby Tuesday location to become Generac store

The building in Henrico County sold for $1.9M.

A former Ruby Tuesday in Henrico County has sold for $1.9 million, Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer announced Tuesday.

The 5,451-square-foot property is located at 9830 W. Broad St. and sits on just more than an acre of land. Morrison Restaurants Inc. purchased the property in August 1993 and the restaurant was built in 1994, according to Henrico County property records. The restaurant closed almost 24 years later in July 2018.

R&D Joint Venture purchased the property, which is part of Broad Street Plaza, from LG RT Glen Allen, VA LLC. R&D plans to use the building to open a Generac Power Systems store. Generac was founded in 1959 and manufactures and sells backup generators for home, commercial and industrial use. 

James Ashby IV and Annie O’Connor of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the transaction on behalf of the seller. John Jay Schwartz, managing director of Have Site Will Travel Ltd. and The Man with Square Feet, represented the buyer.
