Gold Key | PHR to hire 100 more people for The Main in Norfolk

Published April 11, 2017 by Paula C. Squires

To prepare for what it described as a “heavy schedule” of upcoming meetings and conventions, Gold Key | PHR said Tuesday that it will host a job fair Friday at The Main, it newest property in downtown Norfolk.

The Main, a 300-room, Hilton-branded hotel and conference center, is looking to hire 100 people including bar staff, wait staff, chef positions and banquet servers as well as to bolster its housekeeping department.

Gold Key | PHR said the new positions would add to an existing roster of 350 onsite staff. “We pride ourselves on excellent service at all of our properties,” Gold Key | PHR’s Executive Vice President of Administration, Elizabeth Weller, said in a statement.  “We are looking to maintain a high level of service as the popularity of our restaurants, Grain, Varia and Saltine, has exponentially grown since opening. It is exciting to be in a position of growing a staff based on demand, and we hope we can find those additional 100 new team members this Friday.”

Interested applicants can apply online in advance at goldkeyphr.com/careers. They should arrive with resume in hand and be ready for an interview on April 14. The job fair will be held in the Granby Ballroom.

The Main, located at 100 East Main St., opened to the public on April 3.
