Head of Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council to resign in September

Gov. Terry McAuliffe has appointed Tracey Jeter director of the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity. Jeter will step down from her current position of president and CEO of the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council on Sept. 4.

In her new role, Jeter will help advance the interest of minority businesses in the commonwealth.

According to the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council’s website, Jeter has been heading the organization since last summer. Previously, she was president and CEO of the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council. Before that, she worked at Virginia State University where she served as special assistant and senior speechwriter to the president, liaison to the board of visitors and lead advisor on media relations. She’s also the former owner of Gordon-Tracey Advertising and Public Relations LLC. 

Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council is part of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, which helps members diversify their supply chains and grow sustainable minority businesses. Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council serves Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
