Leidos lands $649M Army contract

Reston federal contractor to offer services for the Special Operations Command

Published August 11, 2020 by Sydney Lake

The U.S. Army awarded Reston-based federal contractor Leidos a $649 million contract to provide operations and support services to the Special Operations Command’s (SOCOM) Tactical Airborne Multi-Sensor Platforms mission, the company announced Monday.

The one-year contract (with four one-year option periods) was awarded through the U.S. Army’s Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services. Under the contract, Leidos will provide pilot services and staffing for the Intelligence Coordination Center as well as other tactical services including airborne sensor operators, hub and spoke operations, logistics, aircraft and mission equipment maintenance and integration and engineering support services.

“We have assembled a proven, best-of-breed team who are deeply committed to the success of the STAMP mission,” Leidos Defense Group President Gerry Fasano said in a statement. “We are proud to support the SOCOM community with tactical ISR [intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance] operations, system integration and sustainment for commercial derivative aircraft for the Special Operations Command.”

With annual revenues of $11.09 billion last year and 37,000 employees, Leidos is a Fortune 500 company that specializes in technology and engineering services for federal defense agencies.
