McLean-based tech provider Saliense announced Wednesday it has hired Victor Florido as director of cybersecurity.

With more than 18 years of experience, Florido was most recently the branch chief and senior cybersecurity adviser to the IT security services director of the General Services Administration. In his new role, he will lead development and delivery of cybersecurity solutions for Saliense’s government clients.

“We are excited to welcome Victor to the Saliense team,” Saliense President and CEO Nikita Singh said in a statement. “He has an impressive background in cybersecurity and will be a huge value add to our company as we continue to grow and expand our service offerings.”

Florido also serves as an adjunct professor and cybersecurity certified ethical hacker course chair for the University of Maryland Global Campus. During his career he has had experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, IT project management, systems engineering, cloud computing and systems analysis.

Saliense is a certified economically disadvantaged, women-owned small business (EDWOSB) and provides management and technology services to federal and commercial clients.
