Nissan Altima most popular among CarMax shoppers

The Nissan Altima is once again the best selling car among CarMax shoppers, according to the Richmond-based used-car retailer.

The Japanese-car has won the honor two years in a row, according to data from CarMax’s 2015 Used Car Shopping Report.

The survey also shows that domestic models are becoming more popular: Half of the 10 most-purchased vehicles from CarMax stores were made by American companies.

The five best-selling cars at CarMax were:

1.     Nissan Altima

2.     Chevrolet Malibu

3.     Honda Accord

4.     Toyota Camry

5.     Honda Civic

Survey results are based on more than 550,000 vehicle sales at CarMax’s more than 140 U.S. stores between March 2014 and February 2015. The study was conducted May 7-8 by Ipsos Public Affairs.

CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used vehicles. The Fortune 500 company currently operates 147 used car stores in 75 markets.
