NoVa tower lures engineering firm

A Northern Virginia-based engineering firm plans to move its headquarters to a new tower being built in the region.

Alion Science and Technology is moving its headquarters to Boro Tower, a 20-story office building under construction in Tysons, The Meridian Group and Rockefeller Group announced Tuesday.

Alion, an engineering firm, is leasing a 14,000-square-foot office at Boro Tower, which is being developed by Meridian and Rockefeller. Meridian is based in Bethesda, Md. and Rockefeller is based out of New York. Alion is currently based out of an office in McLean at 1750 Tysons Boulevard.

Boro Tower is more than 70 percent preleased and is planned to be completed this year. Other tenants that have signed on include the global accounting firm KPMG, media and digital company TEGNA, the law firm Hogan Lovells, and another law firm, Womble Bond Dickinson. Boro Tower has 123,000 square feet still available for lease.

CBRE’s Rob Faktorow, Terry Reiley and Rosanne Richards represent Meridian and Rockefeller in leasing for Boro Tower. Alion was represented by CBRE brokers Cathy Delcoco and Sean Weidlein.

Boro Tower is part of a 15-acre mixed-use development being done by Meridian that’s being called The Boro. The development will have nearly 700 residential units and 260,000 square feet of retail. A Whole Foods and a Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON Theatres location are planned for The Boro.
