Owens & Minor names chief financial officer

Mechanicsville-based Owens & Minor Inc. has named Richard A. “Randy” Meier as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The appointment is effective on March 1.

From 2010 to 2012, Meier, 53, served as executive vice president and CFO of Teleflex Inc., a global provider of specialty medical devices for a range of procedures in critical care and surgery.

Before joining Teleflex, he served as president and COO of Advanced Medical Optics Inc., from 2007 to 2009, when the company was acquired by Abbott Laboratories.
