Parsons Corp. branch awarded $2.24B MDA contract

Alabama-based Parsons Government Services signs deal

Published June 18, 2021 by Katherine Schulte

Centreville-based defense contractor Parsons Corp. has won a potential $2.24 billion contract from the Missile Defense Agency, the Department of Defense announced this week.

Huntsville, Alabama-based Parsons Government Services will oversee the project, which starts in July and could run up to January 2029. Work will be performed at Fort Belvoir and other military sites across the country.

The Department of Defense is obligating $36.4 million for research, development, test and evaluation funds under this contract in the 2021 fiscal year, according to a department statement Wednesday. Parsons will perform duties that include engineering and technical support; studies, analysis and evaluations; and management and professional services.

The MDA received two proposals for the cost-plus-fixed-fee level-of-effort contract. The award caps an eventful period for the contractor, which won a $618 million contract with the U.S. General Services Administration in May. In March, the Defense Intelligence Agency awarded Parsons a 10-year IT contract worth a potential $12.6 billion.

Parsons also plans to purchase Herndon-headquartered BlackHorse Solutions Inc. for $203 million. The transaction is expected to close in July.
