Pork and oyster bar coming to Richmond
Two local investors, Mathew and Season Appelget, are partnering with Washington. D.C., Chef Rich Gunter to open a new restaurant in Richmond that will offer pork, an oyster bar, a whiskey bar and a cigar lounge, Burn.
“The Pig & Pearl brings the unexpected to Richmond … We are aiming to elevate two southern staples, pork and oysters, to a new status of upscale dining,” Mathew Appelget said in a statement.
Appelget said the restaurant plans to appeal to the after-work crowd and the late-night crowd.
The Pig & Pearl, located at 2053 West Broad Street in Richmond, is expected to have a soft opening in early September.
