Reston contractor buys Md.-based software, systems engineering company

Acclaim Technical Services Inc. acquires Global Consulting Services Inc.

Reston-based government contractor Acclaim Technical Services Inc. announced Sept. 1 it has acquired Rockville, Maryland-based software and systems engineering company Global Consulting Services Inc.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 

Founded in 2015, Global Consulting Services’ 30 employees support multiple contracts working on development, engineering and testing of mission critical systems for Intelligence Community customers. Acclaim Technical Services supports intelligence, defense and law enforcement contracts related to intelligence, language, operations, training and mission technology and analytics. 

“GCS’ IT expertise and customer segmentation are highly complementary to our core competencies and align well with our strategic road map and our Intelligence Community customers’ current and emerging mission technology requirements,” Acclaim Technical Services President and CEO Dave Cerne said in a statement. “This acquisition allows ATS to further enhance the tailored, integrated solutions we deliver across our enterprise as a mature midsize capable of executing complex prime contract requirements for our customers.”

Founded in 2000, Acclaim Technical Services currently employs more than 300 people and is owned by its employees under an employee stock ownership plan.
