Roanoke construction company promotes senior VP

Roanoke-based construction company Branch Builds announced Tuesday it has promoted Cathy Underwood to senior vice president and regional business unit leader.

Underwood was most recently vice president at the company, and in her new role she will pursue new business opportunities and manage the Roanoke and Charlotte, North Carolina, business operations. She will also head staffing, planning and execution of projects.

During her time with Branch Builds, she’s worked on many of their largest project, including its $110 million Montgomery County PPEA design-build program. She has been with the company for more than 20 years.

Branch Builds is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Branch Group and serves clients in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In 2019, the company had total revenues of approximately $500 million and 900 employees.
