University of Virginia Health System hires design firm for hospital expansion project

Published September 22, 2014 by Paula C. Squires

Perkins+Will said Monday that the University of Virginia Health System has hired the global architecture and design firm’s Washington, D.C., office to assist with its hospital expansion and renovation project.

U.Va. engaged Perkins+Will to develop a space program and design for the expansion of its existing emergency and interventional departments, and inpatient bed tower, as well as related renovation work to the current facility.

Perkins+Will is tasked with creating an architectural design that will complement the character of the existing U.Va. Medical Center campus.
