Va. Beach property management firm names director

David Carneal will manage The Lawson Cos.' multifamily portfolio

Virginia Beach-based property management firm The Lawson Cos. announced Wednesday that David Carneal will be its director of property management. He will be responsible for management of the company’s portfolio of more than 5,500 units and will oversee the company’s six regional property managers.

Carneal was most recently president and senior vice president at Midlothian-based R.C. Evans Management Group Inc., where he led acquisition and development for multifamily properties. He also oversaw Virginia market growth, property operations and financial performance. For his new role, he will not be moving to Virginia Beach, but will manage the entire Lawson multifamily portfolio.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Virginia.

Lawson was founded in 1972 and specializes in property management and development.
