Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity names director of business development

The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (DSBSD)  has named Kathryn L. Dolan director of business development and outreach.

Before joining Richmond-based DSBSD, Dolan worked with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Virginia Department of Business Assistance.

She has more than 30 years of experience in economic development and several years in the private sector.

In her new role, Dolan will assess existing business models, coordinate strategies with new resources for small businesses across the commonwealth and recruit a statewide team.

The DSBSD helps small, women- and minority-owned businesses start and grow their business and navigate Virginia’s procurement process.

DSBSD is the result of the 2014 merger of the former Virginia Department of Business Assistance and the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise.
