Virginia graduate programs score well in rankings

Virginia schools ranked well in the latest lists of top business-related programs compiled by U.S. News & World Report.

The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia ranked 12th among full-time graduate business schools while the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech was 75th. Tech was 34th among part-time MBA programs.

Meanwhile, Tech ranked 24th among graduate engineering programs while U.Va. was 38th . Tech’s civil graduate engineering program tied for seventh with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan.

U. Va.’s law school ranked seventh in the country. Other Virginia law schools in the top 100 were Washington and Lee University, No. 26; the College of William & Mary, 33; George Mason University, 41; and the University of Richmond, 53.

Among medical schools ranked by research, U.Va. was 26th while Virginia Commonwealth University was 68th.  When ranked by primary care, U.Va. was 18th, Eastern Virginia Medical School was 44th and VCU was 71st.
